Discovering Bitter Melon Bindery on Youtube

Have you ever had one of those days where you are scrolling on Youtube and all of a sudden something that normally doesn't catch your attention instantly draws you in? Well that is what happened when I first discovered Bitter Melon Bindery on Youtube. I do not recall exactly how my interest in book binding really started but I do remember clicking on a video with big bold white letters in the thumbnail that clearly read How to Make a Hardcover Book. That was all it took a clear to the point thumbnail with those words and a perfect looking hardcover book pictured on it as well.

The mastermind behind this bookbinding studio is none other than a really down to earth and super talented Chanel Ly. So besides being on Youtube, Instagram, and Tik Tok, she also runs her own business in markets and on her very own website where she creates her own collection of journals and sketchbooks. She is also the author of Handmade Books at Home published in December 2023.

The way she teaches and explains everything is amazing. She explains why every thing is done a certain way and how it impacts the outcome of such actions. Chanel is a great teacher for beginners trying to learn book binding. Highly recommend watching her YouTube videos or following her on social media since I am pretty sure you will learn a thing or two from her. Her videos will certainly inspire you, teach and/or simply entertain you since she does tutorials, book binding sessions, takes you along on her business adventures as well as behind the scenes of her new collection and new collaborations.
